For hair salons and barbershops

Fuller chairs. More clients rebooked. Fewer no-shows.

We set up AI for your salon or shop and connect it to your booking system. It works every day on rebooking, reminders, open chair time and the clients who have not been back, without ever touching client records. Then our AI keeps making it better, with a real person on a call every month.

AI in hair salons and barbershops today

Nobody has a good count of AI in salons and barbershops. The one owner survey with a stated sample is from late 2024, when about half of salons and spas had never used it. Since then the booking software companies have built it in, and most of what gets reported is theirs. Two things are clear from stylists themselves: the phone goes unanswered while their hands are busy, and clients are turning up with AI-made pictures of hair that does not exist.

How it's being used

  • Writing marketing copy is where salons and spas use AI most. In a survey of 296 beauty business executives, 46% of those using content software said it was AI-powered, against 22% for booking apps. Among owners using AI, 78% said it saves them at least six hours a week. Square survey, October 2024
  • On one large barbershop booking platform, 58% of roughly 7,000 US shops now use at least one of its AI features, for marketing and reports. That is one company's customers, not the whole trade. SQUIRE, State of Barbershops report, May 2026
  • Booking platforms are selling AI phone answering to barbers specifically, for the calls that come in mid-cut. Digital Transactions, September 2026
  • Clients are starting to ask ChatGPT where to get their hair done. One California salon owner searched for the best salon near her and found her own at the top. The same column warns that a salon visible only on social media risks being left out. Salon Today, March 2026
  • A veteran San Jose barber wears five cameras while he cuts so a robotics lab can learn his hand movements. He told the station he is not worried about being replaced. ABC7 News, August 2026

Where it's going wrong

  • About half of salons and spas had never used AI at all as of late 2024, and only a small share of the rest used it daily. Square survey, October 2024
  • Clients get upset when told the hair in their AI-generated photo cannot be done. One stylist's video asking clients not to bring them drew 887,000 views, and others described constant requests for looks that are impossible on hair with years of dark dye. The Daily Dot, September 2024
  • A Canadian salon owner says AI reference photos show a shine and thickness most people do not have, and that a stylist has to be willing to tell a client they will not be happy with the result. CBC News, November 2024
  • An AI receptionist that is not connected to the shop's live calendar causes double bookings. One barbershop software company warns that many of them book against a separate calendar that syncs later, and staff stop trusting the schedule. It sells a competing product. SQUIRE, June 2026
  • Clients still reach for the phone. 59% of hair salon regulars and 53% of barbershop regulars say calling is always the easiest way to book, and 14% of barbershop regulars are not comfortable at all with an AI receptionist. Zenoti survey, October 2025
  • The craft is where trust stops. In a UK trade body's survey, 80% said they would not trust AI to help with color matching. The post gives no sample size. National Hair & Beauty Federation (UK), July 2025

What we take from it

Nobody wants a machine choosing their color, and the surveys agree. We keep AI away from the chair. Your AI works on the book: the client who left without a next appointment, tomorrow's reminders, Friday's open slots, and the regular who has not been in for 90 days.

The missed call is real, and so is the double booking from a bot that cannot see your calendar. We work on the same problem from the side that carries less risk: rebooking at checkout, reminders with an easy reschedule, and a waitlist that fills the gap when someone cancels. You approve what goes out.

If clients are asking AI where to go, a shop that lives only on Instagram is hard to find. Your AI keeps your Google profile, hours, services and booking link current and your reviews answered. That is most of what being found comes down to.

Common questions

Click a question to see the answer.

Is this an AI receptionist?

No. Your AI works on rebooking, reminders, open chair time and winning back clients who have lapsed. Who answers your phone stays your decision.

Will it message my clients without me seeing it?

No. Your AI drafts the reminders, rebooking notes and win-back offers, and you approve what goes out.

I rent chairs to my stylists. Does this still work?

It can. It depends on whose booking system the appointments sit in, so tell us how your shop is set up on the call and we'll say plainly whether it fits.

What do you see of my clients' information?

Your AI works from counts in your booking system, such as no-shows, rebookings and open hours. We see the work it did and the totals, never your conversations.

What does it cost?

$1,000 a month for two priorities, plus setup from $1,500. The first step is a free 20-minute call.
